Harold Y. Hwang
Physicist Harold Y. Hwang is serves in a number of roles at Stanford University: Professor, Applied Physics; Professor, Photon Science Directorate; Professor, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory; and Director, Stanford Institute for Materials and Energy Sciences.
His research interests include condensed matter physics and materials science: correlated electrons and emergent phenomena at artificial interfaces and in confined systems; atomic scale synthesis of heterostructures of quantum materials; oxide heterostructures for energy applications; low-dimensional superconductivity; novel devices based on interface states.
Hwang holds a B.S. in physics, as well as B.S. and M.S. in electrical engineering from MIT. He received his Ph.D. from Princeton University.
