His research centers on sociology of law, of ethics and other forms of normative social regulation (technical, administrative, professional, ideological). In the field of health and medicine, he has published and is currently doing research on the introduction of new medical tecnologies, the various normative uses of bioethics, the doctors' and nurses' attitudes toward death, and the regulation of research in genetics. He has also written extensively on human rights, citizenship and globalization, aboriginal rights, sociological jurisprudence, and the Quebec society.
