George T. Clooney
George Clooney is an actor, filmmaker, philanthropist, and humanitarian. In his film career, he has received two Academy Awards - for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Syriana and for Best Picture as one of the producers for Argo - as well as five Golden Globes including the Cecil B. DeMille Award, four SAG Awards, and a BAFTA award. Before his film career, Clooney starred in several television series, becoming best known to audiences for his five years on the NBC drama ER.
Clooney is also known for his involvement in global humanitarian causes including disaster relief, refugee aid, and civil conflict. He co-founded Not on Our Watch, a non-profit organization using influential people in the arts to capture global attention and resources to combat mass atrocities. With his wife, attorney Amal Clooney, he co-founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice, which advocates on behalf of journalists, women, activists, and minority populations around the world. He previously served as a UN Messenger for Peace.
