Professor Evelyn Fox Keller was a Professor of the History and Philosophy of Science, Emerita at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Keller received her B.A. n 1957 in Physics from Brandies University and went on to get her Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard University in 1963. Her work in the history and philosophy of 20th century biology and on gender and science opened up new perspectives in our understanding of science. In addition, she contributed to the study of the intersection of physics and biology. Her books, translated into many languages, attracted wide scholarly and public attention. She was the recipient of the John Desmond Bernal Prize and served as the Blaise Pascal Research Chair.
