Internationally recognized as a leading authority on the Dead Sea Scrolls and in the textual criticism of the Hebrew Bible and the early Greek versions. One of three general editors for the official publication of the Scrolls and Chief Editor of the Biblical Scrolls, he has edited six volumes and was selected for the translation revision committees for both the Protestant and the Catholic translations of the Bible.
