Emily Tracy
Emily Tracy is currently serving as the Superintendent of Brown County Schools in Nashville, Indiana, where she leads with a relentless pursuit to redesign public education by prioritizing student voice, ownership, and empowerment. Emily is committed to creating innovative, competency-based learning environments that prepare students for success in school, work, and life. Under her leadership, Brown County Schools has implemented transformative initiatives such as student-led enterprises, scaled presentation literacy through TED-Ed and TEDx, and expanded career pathways to provide students with meaningful, real-world learning experiences.
Prior to serving in Brown County, Emily held roles as an Elementary Principal, K-5 Assistant Principal, and a proud second and fourth grade teacher throughout Indiana. Emily earned her Ed.S. degree from Indiana State University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Leadership at the same institution. She is a Certified Trainer for the Process Communication Model and an IPLI (Indiana Principal Leadership Institute) Leadership Development Specialist. Most recently, Emily became a licensed TEDx host, organizing the first-ever TEDxYouth event for Brown County Schools in 2024 to amplify student voices and foster leadership.
