Her work centers on narrative theory, where she has been most concerned with two topics: 1) the presentation of consciousness in fiction, and 2) markers for distinguishing fictional from non-fictional (historical) texts. she has also written numerous articles on German, Austrian, French and English authors of the first half of the twentieth century (Freud, Mann, Proust, Kafka, Joyce, Mussil, Broce, and others)
