Diana Taylor

Diana Taylor is one of the leading scholars in the world in the field of Performance Studies, a field she helped build. At the same time, her strengths as a scholar in Latin American Studies have earned her substantial recognition. The author of six books and the editor of a dozen volumes, she has also created the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, a unique and innovative consortium that gathers scholars, artists and activists from across the hemisphere, and has re-defined American Studies. Her Presidency of the Modern Language Association of America has significantly enlarged the Association's range of concerns.
