The hallmarks of Eisenberg's style—crystalline prose, keen perceptions of emotional nuance, and wry wit—are all evident in her distinctive portraits of contemporary American life. Eisenberg has published four collections of stories: Transactions in a Foreign Currency (1986), Under the 82nd Airborne (1992), All Around Atlantis (1997), and Twilight of the Superheroes (2006) with a fifth collection Your Duck is My Duck (forthcoming in September). Her short stories have appeared in such publications as The New Yorker, The Yale Review, and The Virginia Quarterly Review. Her honors include a MacArthur Fellow (2009), the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction (2011), and a Whiting Writer's Award.
