Identified the genetic bases of multiple inherited bleeding and clotting diseases including von Willebrand disease and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. Discovered the genes responsible for combined deficiency of coagulation factors V and VIII and provided insights into the basic cellular processes of ER to Golgi transport.
