Daniel Ziblatt is Eaton Professor of Government at Harvard University and director of the Transformations of Democracy group at Berlin's Social Science Center. Ziblatt specializes in the study of European politics, state-building, democratization and historical political economy. His books include the co-authored How Democracies Die (2018), which has been translated into thirty languages, and Conservative Parties and the Birth of Democracy (2017), which earned awards from the American Political Science Association and the American Sociological Association. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley.
