Dafna Bar-Sagi
Dr. Dafna Bar-Sagi is Senior Vice President and Vice Dean for Science; Chief Scientific Officer; Saul J. Farber Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology; and Professor of Medicine at New York University Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Bar-Sagi is a world-renowned leader in the field of tumor biology. She has made fundamental contributions to the understanding of the patho-physiological consequence of oncogenic activation of Ras proteins. Her work has defined novel oncogenic Ras-dependent adaptation processes that contribute to tumor cell fitness through metabolic reprogramming, immune evasion and stress resistance. She is credited with the elucidation of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying these processes and the establishment of a framework for the identification of new targeting modalities for oncogenic Ras-driven tumors. Dr. Bar-Sagi’s accomplishments have had broad impact on advancement of knowledge in key areas of cellular and organismal oncogenic signaling.
