Professor Mills has pioneered the application of social contract theory for non-ideal normative political philosophy, particularly as applied to issues of racial injustice, in The Racial Contract (1997), Contract and Domination (with Carole Pateman) (2007), and other works. He has deployed alternative epistemologies to uncover the systematic racial biases of major political philosophers. He has led the way in decolonizing philosophy's canon and re-reading the history of political philosophy in the context of global white supremacy. The author of 6 major books and approximately 100 articles, many widely reprinted, Professor Mills is in very high demand as a speaker around the world.~
