Charles J. Henry

The Council on Library and Information Resources is an independent, nonprofit organization that forges strategies to enhance research, teaching, and learning environments in collaboration with libraries, cultural institutions, and communities of higher learning. As president of the Council, Charles Henry has enlarged its mandate and turned the organization into a powerful intellectual force, emphasizing the value of computers to the life of scholarship and educating students, post-docs, and the professoriate in the possibilities for disciplined and imaginative use of electronic means to scholarly ends. He has functioned internationally as advocate and guide for the integration of current technology and scholarly investigation.
