Catherine Wilson is Anniversary Professor Emeritus at the University of York (UK), having previously served as Regius Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen. She has worked on early microscopy, evolutionary ethics, metaethics, and the psychology and neuroscience of aesthetic experience, as well as on the history of Epicurean atomism and materialism and their philosophical and cultural resonance. In addition to visiting fellowships in Cambridge, Oxford, Konstanz, and Berlin, she has held faculty and administrative posts in the US and Canada and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. She earned her degrees at Yale, Oxford, and Princeton.
