Carter G. Phillips

Supreme Court and appellate lawyer. Carter handles cases at all levels of the state and federal court systems.  He has argued 84 cases before the Supreme Court of the United States and briefed hundreds more. He also has argued more than 120 cases in the U.S. Courts of Appeals, including at least one in every Circuit in the country. He has a long history of civil and philanthropic endeavors and numerous pro bono appeals. He is the Chair of the Executive Committee of the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, one of the ten largest law firms in the world.
