Carl H. Pforzheimer
Carl H. Pforzheimer III is manager of CHIPCO Asset Management, LLC, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm, and of Carl H. Pforzheimer & Co. LLC. He has chaired the boards of the National Humanities Center, Visiting Nurse Service of New York, Pace University, Horace Mann-Barnard School and UrbanGlass and was President of the Scarsdale public schools. A Life Trustee and past member of the Executive Committee of the New York Public Library, Pforzheimer also continues his connection with a rare book and manuscript collection focusing on Shelley and the history of English Romanticism collected by his grandfather, owned by and housed at the Library. He is an emeritus member of the board of the Corning Museum of Glass, an Honorary Director and Past President of the Harvard Alumni Association and a member of the board of the ACLS. He was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2002. Pforzheimer is a member of the Academy’s Commission on the Humanities and Social Sciences. He served for years as Treasurer, Chairman of the Academy’s Finance Committee, and as a member of the Academy’s Board of Directors, Council, and Trust.
