My research foci over many years are in the general areas of topological groups, representation theory, ergodic theory, and operator algebras with applications to number theory. At present, I am working on some problems arising in the group cohomology of topological groups. Several years ago I completed a book on he history of mathematics at Berkeley, and have a continuing interest in the history of mathematics.
