Bryan Steil
First elected in 2018, Congressman Bryan Steil represents Wisconsin’s First Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Now in his second term, Bryan was appointed as the Ranking Member of the Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth. He also serves as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Elections for the Committee on House Administration and serves on the House Financial Services Committee. He also co-founded the Congressional Future of Work Caucus with Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) to help bring more focus to issues relating to job training, AI hiring tools, gig economy worker rights and preparing workers for the jobs of the future.
A former corporate attorney before joining Congress, Steil wasn’t necessarily a newcomer to Capitol Hill. He worked briefly as legislative aide to not-yet-Speaker of the House Paul Ryan before running in 2018 to succeed his former boss. Born and raised in Janesville, Bryan graduated from Janesville Craig High School, Georgetown University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. He is a member of St. John Vianney Parish in Janesville.
