As Board Chair of The Juilliard School and Vice Chair of Lincoln Center, studied the needs of charitable organizations and worked with institutional leadership to create programs that have brought selected organizations to new levels of excellence. Work with Lincoln Center includes leading the $200 million project that realized the first significant renovation of the school since 1969, the development of a graduate-level historical performance program at Juilliard that has enriched the school and New York City, and the contribution to Juilliard of 140 rare musical manuscripts that he collected over a period of fifteen years and that represent some of the great masterworks of the Western musical canon, including the printer's proof of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, with numerous markings by the composer. ~~
