Research interests lie largely in the areas of foundations of quantum mechanics and low-temperature physics, in particular superfluidity, superconductivity and the recently stabilized Bose-condensed atomic gases. Has for many years encouraged experiments to probe quantum mechanics as close as possible to the scale of everyday life.
