Professor Aldo Schiavone is the Professor of Roman Law at the Scuola Normale Superiore and the former director and founder of the Instituto Italiano di Scienze Umane, a new Italian University dedicated to advanced education in human and social sciences. He has directed the seven volume Einaudi publications, Storia di Roma. Author of several books on Roman History and Roman Law, among them The End of the Past, Harvard University Press, 2001 as well as two books on contemporary Italian politics.
