Applications of particle theory to the study of the very early history of the universe, mostly in the context of cosmic inflation.  Also some work on Bell inequality experiments, which show that if the quantum behavior that we observe is actually the consequence of an underlying hidden variable theory, then the hidden variable theory would need to have some very bizarre properties.
