His oversight of the process is wildly credited with saving Nigeria billions of dollars in fraudulent fuel subsidy payments. For Nigeria's banking industry, he developed and convinced his colleagues to accept the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles--a set of standards to guide the conduct of Nigerian banking institutions and professionals on environmental, social and governance issues.

He is founder of Africa Initiative for Governance ("AIG") a non-for-profit organisation, established to be a catalyst for high public sector performance; bringing leadership, funding and private sector innovation in a private-public partnership to attract, inspire and support future leaders of the public sector. Scholarships and Fellowships are awarded annually to outstanding Nigerians and other West Africans to undertake post-graduate training in governance and public policy at the BSG.
