CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A record number of donors contributed to the Academy’s Annual Fund during the 2008 fiscal year. Their generous support raised a record-breaking $1,511,164 for the Academy, the second year in a row that the Annual Fund has exceeded $1.5 million.
“Since membership dues cover only 12 percent of the Academy’s budget, a strong and growing Annual Fund is absolutely critical to sustain and advance the Academy’s work,” said Leslie Berlowitz, Chief Executive Officer and William T. Golden Chair. “We are grateful to all of the Fellows whose generous support is helping to advance the work of the Academy.”
The Annual Fund supports Academy projects and studies, the Visiting Scholars Program, Dædalus and other Academy publications, and events for Fellows at locations around the country.
