The Los Angeles Committee invited members' and their guests to a discussion and reception. The program included the presentation of the Rumford Prize to this year’s recipient, Andrea M. Ghez, followed by a conversation highlighting how creativity and imagination fuel scientific discovery, and how science inspires artistic expression. The event was also an opportunity to welcome new Academy President Laurie Patton, connect with fellow Academy members, and visit the California Science Center.
