Los Angeles, CA
During the past 30 years, Los Angeles has made significant investments in cultural institutions, becoming a world leading arts hub that has attracted a remarkable array of artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers, and musicians. On March 3, members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences attended a conversation about the arts in Los Angeles with Katherine Fleming (The J. Paul Getty Trust), Michael Govan (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), Sandra Jackson-Dumont (Lucas Museum of Narrative Art) and Academy President David Oxtoby. They examined this rapid growth and discussed interdisciplinary projects such as PST ART: Art & Science Collide.
