This program featured biomedical aerospace engineer Dava Newman (Massachusetts Institute of Technology [MIT]). In her research on human performance across the spectrum of gravity, she is known for her work on the BioSuit,™ which offers greatly enhanced movement for astronauts in preparation for interplanetary missions to the Moon and Mars. The former NASA Deputy Administrator also explores use of the vast amounts of data collected by satellites to inform and motivate the public for the fight against climate change. Her presentation will highlight her work in these areas, along with current initiatives of the MIT Media Lab, which she directs.
