Safe Spaces, Brave Spaces: Diversity and Free Expression in Education
May 7, 2019
|
Cambridge, MA
Trigger warnings, microaggressions, safe spaces, the disinvitation of speakers, the renaming of campus symbols: every university, college, and school has grappled with controversy related to a swirl of community issues in the past few years.
John Palfrey stimulated a conversation about the intersection between a growing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and the tradition of free expression on campuses. His remarks were followed by a conversation with Martha Minow and questions from the audience.
